Implementation and sustainable operation

Implementation approach

All health work is planned with ministries of health so that new or upgraded facilities are staffed, supplied and included in national systems. AMAF focuses on what often limits care in practice: power, water, equipment, transport and training.

Sustainable operation

Facilities are handed over within the public health system with an agreed staffing plan, budget line and maintenance schedule. Solar power and water systems reduce running costs, and equipment is chosen for local serviceability.
